The BED is the Bachelor of Environmental Design in Landscape Architecture. It may serve as one of several undergraduate preprofessional degrees that meets requirements for a Masters of Landscape Architecture. Required and elective courses provide general background in the biological and physical sciences, social sciences and liberal arts as they apply to design. They introduce students to the technical, analytical and communication skills, scientific principles, design theory and technology required for future practice as a landscape architect.
