General Links Landscape Architecture Virtual Library: Database of landscape architecture related information on the Internet. American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA): Website of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Information on the society, the profession, education, jobs and events. Cyburbia: University of Buffalo's cybercafe for planning, architecture, urbanism and the built environment. History National Historic Register: A national program to protect our historic and archeological resources. Plant Materials Identification of Minnesota Flora: A web-site developed by the Department of Landscape Architecture course, LA 5574, for use in the identification of Minnesota Flora. Virtual Foliage Home Page: This site provides links to great photographic images of temperate zone landscape plants. You'll need to know botanical names to use these databases. Ornamental Plant Database: Database of factsheets on ornamental/landscape plants including descriptions, culture, pest and disease control. Geared towards professionals. Plant Database: Plant database of woody and herbaceous plants at Iowa State. Organized by scientific or common name. WebGarden Factsheet Database: Searchable database of over 4,000 links to horticultural factsheets from the US, Canada and the Netherlands. Covers all aspects of landscaping. Plant Dictionary: Searchable database of photographic images and descriptions of landscape plants. Great source for images including details of leaves, fruits, flowers, etc. Research Centers CLRNET: Research center at the University of Toronto Landscape Architecture Theses Archive: Citations with abstracts for masters and PhD theses. Imaging System Lab: University of Illinois research center for visualizing and evaluating large-scale environmental change. National Wildflower Research Center: Website of the Ladybird Johnson National Wildflower Center. |
