The North American landscape is scattered with marginalized spaces like the Cedar Lake Trail Underpass. The project design attempts to answer the question of how a space that has been cast away by all but the most desperate of individuals can reach a position of dignity. By acknowledging that the underpass has existing resources and qualities that can be drawn upon, the design offers hope for the future in a space now abandoned and considered useless.
